Hike Description: Skyline Ridge Open Space Preserve offers a good variety of things to see for nature lovers. We will walk through a Douglas-fir forest, chaparral, visit Horseshoe Lake and Alpine Pond, check out an Ohlone Indian grinding rock, and drop in at a nature center.
Gear: On the preserve, we'll be hiking on dirt and gravel so hiking shoes/boots are recommended. Don't forget water, sunscreen, hat, etc. Dress in layers if you're not sure about the weather.
Lunch: Please pack a light lunch or snack. We will stop for lunch about half way.
Directions: Use this Google Map link to find the location: http://goo.gl/Xe9pJ. As soon as you entered the main gate, turn right and drive to the last parking lot. We will meet by the map kiosk.
Hi Padma, unfortunatly, the majority of the route we will be taking is not stroller friendly. However, at the start of the hike, we will be passing a lake where strollers can get around. You can start with the group and we can drop you off by the lake. After that, you can drive to the nature center where the group will visit and have lunch. There is a pond there that is encircled by a pathway where strollers can also access.
